Father Joey joined us at Sacred Heart Waianae in July 2024 and was incardinated into the Diocese of Honolulu in November 2025!

Deacon Morton Zabala (retired)
Deacon Morton began assisting at Sacred Heart Church Waianae in July 2018 as a Permanent Deacon. He was ordained a Permanent Deacon on May 5, 2012, in Salinas CA for the Diocese of Monterey, CA. He has been married to Carol for fifty-one years. He has two adult married sons and six grandchildren. Deacon Morton’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in Business, and a Masters of Pastoral Studies from Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry. Before serving at SHCW, he served in various ministries for 40 years at Sacred Heart Church Salinas, California.
